Jumping back in the saddle!
Hello everyone. No, I did not disappear although it may have appeared that way for some time. I figured that it was about time that I wrote. So, in the mean time I did a few changes...the blog address being one of them. I'm wanting to change the format or layout as well but I'm a little html dumb so I have to wait for some help on that front (hint, hint anybody!).
Last time I wrote was almost 2 months ago and I was ridiculously pregnant and waiting to be done and have this baby. So, the next day I did! And now here I am with a little boy who will be 7 weeks tomorrow-wow, how time flies!! Most of you who actually read my blog know the details but for the sake of keeping records, yes, Joshua Alexander José Nieto joined our family Jan. 4th at 11:24 a.m. He weighed in at a hefty 8 lbs. 5 oz and was 22 inches long.
So much has happened and changed in the past 7 weeks that I can attempt to share it all but there is just to much to recount I'm not sure if it's possible. Katelyn was thrilled to welcome her brother with wide smiles at the hospital......they didn't last long though and after a few days at home she was not a happy camper to have to "share" mommy's time, or lap. We had quite a few meltdowns and a few more spankings than normal but after about a week she settled into her role as big sister. Part of the meltdowns and tantrums comes from being two. She definitely modeled the stereotypical "terrible twos", but overall I'd have to say she's done quite well with the transition. She may not be the center of attention all the time anymore in this house but she is still the "princess" of the house.
Life has gotten into somewhat of a routine. Some days I feel like we are getting stuff done and living and enjoying life...but I have to admit that with two kids, some days we feel like we are just survivin' to get through to the end of the day! On those days I feel like two kids is definitely enough and wonder how people do it with more (and I thought I was quite an organized person who could handle it and much more!) kids and all the extras on their plate. Yet other days I feel like two just isn't enough!! Jose tends to think so now that we have one of each- a boy and a girl- but I'm still thinking maybe one more down the road. I think I can convince him and win that one yet! But no worries! We will definitely be waiting a while before we think of anymore! I am so not ready to be pregnant again right now! So, I'll leave you there for now. I could always say more but there are only so few moments in my day where they are both alseep and I have a few more things I need to do uninterrupted!
