Change of Plans

That's been the story of my life the past month and a half...at least in regards to our move. Our original date to move was May15th but there were a few minor details that weren't finished yet so Jose changed us to move at the end of the month (while there are many perks to working for the builder, that is a drawback). So end of the month it was. We had listed our house on comfree and had tons of people walking through with a few who seemed really interested but no serious offers. So with the end of May drawing near, and our current house not sold yet, Jose pushed the moving date back to June 9th. So, I booked all my appointments for utilities to be changed on the 9th. Since we still weren't' getting any offers through Comfree, we decided to list with a realtor on the 6th. We really didn't want to because we just couldn't seem to swallow the realtor fees that are absolutely outrageous (but that's a whole other rant!) but it seemed a better route to go at the time. Then somewhere in the first week Jose again changed our moving date to the 21st and he said that was final this time !!!(like i said, with him building the house that is one of the drawbacks of how he can change things). So, once again i cancelled all my bookings for utilities and rebooked them for the 21st.

All the while, my grandma (my dad's mom) wasn't doing too good and we knew from family reports that she was nearing the end and didn't have much time left so we were preparing to have to go sometime soon to Abbotsford for a funeral. She passed away on the 12th so we made the travel plans. Jose drove down with my parents and I flew with Katelyn. Flying was good for two reasons: Katelyn didn't have to sit in a car for 12 hours, or more importantly, nobody had to have a 12 hour trip turned into a 15 hour trip with all the extra stops we'd need to do for her!! And secondly, I couldn't imagine driving through winding mountains with my already nauseating morning sickness! So we left on Saturday and came back on the Tuesday night very very late. Despite the circumstances for going to B.C., it was a great weekend of catching up and seeing many cousins, aunts, and uncles who I haven't seen in ages. A good family reunion of sorts. My other grandma (on my mom's side) hadn't seen katelyn yet except through pictures so I was really happy she finally got to meet her and I was able to get a picture of herself, my mom, me and katelyn. Four generations:

And all the while we were there, we got an offer right before we were going to the cemetery on Monday morning last week. After the days events with family and church services, we spent the rest of that Monday evening negotiating and countering with our potential buyers. We settled on a price with them Tuesday before I came home and conditions were removed last Friday. Yah! Our house is sold!!

Needless to say I was exhausted last Wednesday (20th)after we got home and the thought of packing the rest of my home in one day was daunting before we moved on Thursday (21st). My mom arrived at noon on Wed to help me pack up my kitchen etc and Jose came home and his first words are, "Don't be mad at me..." Couldn't you tell I was waiting in anticipation for some great news?!! He says, "We aren't moving till next week now!" My initial reaction was not one of happiness for sure even despite being tired!!! I was just sick and tired of the moving date that kept changing! But after my initial frustration wore off, I realized it was probably better. With us having to head off to B.C. we weren't able to meet with the lawyer to sign all the paperwork for transfer of title, etc and so that was the main delay. So, since we weren't moving, I decided to nap while Katie napped and it sure felt good! And here we are the next Wednesday and while I should be packing right now, I decided I needed a little break and thought I'd catch up on emails, blogs, and other things on the computer. Our house is sold, all the paperwork for the new house (i.e. land title, mortgage, other banking etc) is signed and we are definitely ready to move in on Friday! Last night I stayed up late and packed after Katie went to bed...it's amazing how much more you can get done without little fingers getting in the way!! While I was doing that, Jose went to the new house and started painting Katie's room and the spare room so I'm anxious to see them. I'll post pictures when we get in! Anyways, I should go get some more work done here at home before I have to run out do do some errands. I know it was a long post but I had lots to catch up on!

Two lines

Well, as you can tell my last few posts have been about me being tired. Part of it has just been the busyness of life, trying to sell the house and showing it (plus the every day running the vacuum through just in case someone comes), and attempting to start packing, among other things. But it's also attributed to this which I found at the end of April:

Yup, I'm pregnant. I'm very happy and am looking forward to this baby but I have to admit I really have not been enjoying the pregnancy thus far. I've counted 3 days in the last 7 weeks that I haven't thrown up. Yes, that was not 3 days that I have, it's 3 days that I haven't. No fun. Even on the max amount of diclectin, I'm still throwing up far too many times than anyone should ever have to. Now I'm down to just once in the morning and maybe at supper to go with my all evening nausea so it's such an improvement that it seems I can do this!
I'm just over 13 weeks so hopefully just a few more weeks of feeling sick...at least that was the way it was with katelyn and since it seems to be getting a bit better, I am hoping not much longer. I don't go to see my ob/gyn until July 11 and I will be very excited to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!! But I have a question for all you moms who might read my blog that have had more than one baby: did you feel the baby move earlier the second time around and if you remember when? I think i felt katelyn move at around 16 or 17 weeks but I swear that I felt the baby move on Sunday night... and no, it wasn't gas! It was those feather kinda tickles on the inside of my stomach like someone was scratching or taking a feather and rubbing it. Maybe it wasn't but I laid so still I'm sure it was!!! Anyways, that's my news for today for those of you that didn't know yet! My due date is Dec. 25th or 26th!

I'm backkkk!!

Yes, I'm still alive. I know it's been a long time since I've posted but life has been busy and it doesn't seem to be slowing down quite yet. Katelyn is down to sleep finally so I can actually sit without getting my arm pulled on by her to get away from the computer. Lots has been happening and I'll fill you all in but for now I'm off to bed.
